OUR SERVICES

These services will be provided free or very small charge as we believe it should not cost to get help for mental health problems

{ TALKING THERAPY }

Face-to-face, one-to-one support sessions in order to understand any problems that the individual is currently facing, help to identify what may be causing them and provide practical advice to help them to improve their mental wellbeing.

The current NHS framework in place to help individuals suffering with mental health problems is broken. It takes far too long to get any help, let alone the correct help for what they are going through. Face-to-face therapy seems impossible to come by and people are being fobbed off with telephone appointments and cancelled appointments. We aim to change that, in particular for the neurodivergent community, who struggle communicating effectively over the phone or on a video call, and will exhibit body language that won't be picked up without in-person treatment.

The community will benefit as individuals will be able to access the correct care needed, and they will stand a much better chance of recovery which will in turn improve relationships with partners, family and friends, and will offer a better outlook with gaining, staying or progressing in employment. Early intervention is crucial with mental health illness and that's what talking therapy can provide.

{ GROUP THERAPY }

Peer-to-peer support sessions that bring together people that are struggling with the same or similar mental health problems. Individuals that have experienced problems are much more empathetic towards others.

Problems are better faced together than alone, so bringing a group of people who are struggling or have experienced similar problems and having guided conversations will benefit everyone that attends the group and will also improve their relationships outside of the group, such as with partners or family members. Shared knowledge of coping mechanisms can help others to adopt similar methods to improve their wellbeing.

{ MOVEMENT THERAPY }

Physical exercise that includes walk and talks, jogging sessions, weight training and improving core strength.

Exercising triggers the release of 'feel-good' hormones such as serotonin and dopamine, which improves an individual's mental wellbeing. Many people struggle with the motivation for exercise so tailoring sessions on an individual or group basis in order to encourage them can be very beneficial. Introducing it into a routine can help people with Autism and physical movement can help people with Dementia.

{ EARLY INTERVENTION }

Research suggests it takes just eight minutes of interaction with another person for an individual's negative thinking to be changed into a more positive outlook, and this can be crucial for early intervention, especially when the individual is in crisis mode. Communicating with someone that is understanding and empathetic can bring that individual down from crisis point and they can then be signposted to the treatment service that will best help them deal with whatever they are currently going through.

{ INCLUSIVE EVENTS }

Arranging fun, exciting and inclusive events such as bowling, football, fishing and ice skating. To be provided free or little expense to the attendees.

By bringing people together in a relaxed and fun environment, often doing activities they never thought they could do or maybe never get invited to, offers the chance for people to make new friends, learn new skills, reduce loneliness and improve mental wellbeing. This will benefit all the individuals that attend and will also provide financial support to the venues that hold the events, which can also boost employment and . It is of great benefit to communities that are often overlooked such as people with disabilities, neurodivergent adults and children, people with dementia and people that identify as LGBTQ+. The events will also promote reverse inclusion bringing different communities together.

{ WORKSHOPS }

Focusing on stress management, anxiety control, confidence building, trauma release, addiction support, developing healthy routines and coping strategies.

Symptoms of mental health illness need to be managed effectively to limit the effect it has on an individual's daily functionality and make sure they don't take over that person's life. Work life, Home life and Social Life can improve greatly when there is a level of understanding about mental health illness. Creating routines and identifying potential triggers can help an individual and those around them cope and these workshops aim to help individuals adopt healthy habits and behaviours rather than the unhealthy ones that currently cause or exacerbate their symptoms.
